A water pump P suitable for a bathing pool BP is driven by a motor M via a control unit 22 that controls the speed and/or torque of the motor. Preferably, a remote body 10, 11 has a flow passage 13 for the pumped water fluid, the passage having a region high thermal conductivity that is connected to one or more electronic components 27 of the control unit 22 The region of high thermal conductivity preferably forms a wall of the flow passage any may also have protrusion 21 that extend into the flow passage 13 through aperture 14, the control unit being attached to the opposite side 15. (figs 4, 5 show two control units attached to one passage way by separate elements each attached to it's own aperture). In use, the thermal energy from the electronic components 27 is dissipated by the flowing water W. The dissipated energy also serves to heat the water W in the bathing pool BP. |
