PURPOSE: A light source device is provided to efficiently use a reflection light by reflecting a reflection light to an oval reflector by installing a reflection light obstruction region where the reflection light is secluded from the oval reflector with a discharge vessel. CONSTITUTION: A luminescent material is sealed inside a discharge vessel(1). The discharge vessel is arranged in one focus in an oval reflector(2). A laser light irradiating part irradiates a condensed laser light from the aperture side of the oval reflector to the discharge vessel. The luminescent material is excited by irradiating a laser light absorbed to the material inside the vessel. The radiation light is radiated from the discharge vessel. The radiation light becomes the reflection light by the oval reflector.
