There is a device for generating discrete flow of liquids in response to a driving force, for example centrifugal microfluidic devices for generating discrete flow in response to a constant driving force. Such devices find applications in liquid mixing, for example for diluting samples, such as blood plasma samples. A siphon structure 2 is arranged so as to fill a chamber 8 with liquid 6, via and inlet, up to a threshold level 22, then to dispense a discrete dose from an outlet 16. Whilst the dose is being dispensed, flow from the outlet is greater than the flow through the inlet. |
