The method involves transmitting driving torques (10,16) to a generator over a power train. The generator provides predetermined generator torques (12,22) acting opposite the driving torque and is connected to a grid. The generator torque is controlled depending on a phase position of a torsional vibration of the power train after an abrupt voltage change in the grid.
