PURPOSE: A design method for a hot press forming mold is provided to improve the structure security of a mold by calculating the distribution of stresses of a mold with a cool hole and comparing the distribution of stresses with allowance stress. CONSTITUTION: A design method for a hot press forming mold comprises following steps. In consideration of the property and thickness reduction change of the blank according to temperature change, the shape of the surface of the mold and blank is determined. The arrangement and size of the cool hole inside the mold are determined in consideration of the shape of the blank and the mold. The location and the arrangement of the cool hole are adjusted(S200). The distribution of the stresses of the mold with the cool hole is calculated(S300).
