AN APPARATUS AND AN METHOD FOR DETECTING MULTIPLE TOUCHES ON TOUCH SCREEN

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting multi-touch points on a touch screen are provided to accurately detect the coordinates on the touch points when plural points are touched on a touch pad. CONSTITUTION: Plural touch coordinates are received from a touch pad(1200), and the coordinates of two corners placed on a diagonal line are extracted from a square region including the touch coordinates(1210-1280). A display on the touch pad is controlled based on the variation of the coordinates on those two corners. The size of an image displayed on the display varies based on the difference between the current coordinates of two corners(1290).
