<p>PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to produce an observation variation signal through a radiation signal output from a sensor module and to detect a human body from other heat sources in an indoor space depending on the observation variation signal. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a discharge driving module, a sensor module(40), a control unit, and a display unit. The discharge driving module discharges conditioned air. The sensor module rotates and scans a predetermined domain to output the data on the radiant heat of a heat source. The sensor module comprises a sensor, a step motor, and a sensor controller. The sensor senses the radiant heat of the heat source to output a radiant signal. The step motor rotates the sensor. The sensor controller rotates the step motor, produces the data based on the radiant signal, and transfers the produced data to the control unit. The control unit produces an observation variation signal based on the data and previously stored data and obtains information on a human body depending on the energy level of the observation variation signal to control the discharge driving module. The display unit indicates at least one of the human body information, wind direction, and the wind volume of the conditioned air.</p> |
