COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING DIABETES COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF LYSIMACHIAE FOENUM-GRAECI HERBA

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing Lysimachiae Foenum-Graeci Herba extract is provided to enhance glucose absorption in a cell and insulin secretion amount of pancreatic cells. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating diabetes contains 0.1-50 weight% of Lysimachiae Foenum-Graeci Herba extract as an active ingredient. The Lysimachiae Foenum-Graeci Herba extract is isolated using alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms. The pharmaceutical composition is used in the form of methanol or ethanol. A method for manufacturing the extract comprises: a step of drying and pulverizing Lysimachiae Foenum-Graeci Herba leaves; a step of adding 5-50 time volume of organic solvent; and a step of filtering the extract solution using filter paper and decompressing under 40°C.
