PURPOSE: An automatic voltage controller is provided, which can adjust the input voltage level using the switching operation without the change of polarity of coil in the high-capacity electrical power system including a plurality of toroidal cores. CONSTITUTION: A first transformer(2) comprises a first toroidal core and a coil wound in the first toroidal core. A first switch part(3) selectively interlinks one among a plurality of taps formed in the coil with a standard electric potential terminal. A second transformer(4) comprises a second toroidal core and a main winding wound in the second toroidal core and an excitation winding wound in the second toroidal core. A second switch part(5) selectively interlinks one among a plurality of taps formed in the second transformer with a tap of the predetermined coil. A voltage measurement part(1) measures the size of the input voltage applied to the input terminal. A controller(6) controls the switching operation of the second switch part and the first switch part.
