PURPOSE: An engine starting apparatus for a vehicle and a determination method thereof are provided to detect the output voltage of a battery using one of power terminals of the battery and determine the starting state of the engine based on the output voltage. CONSTITUTION: An engine starting apparatus for a vehicle comprises an alternating current generator, a battery, and a start determination module(140). The alternating current generator generates electricity by receiving power from an engine. The battery receives the electricity from the alternating current generator and performs charging. The start determination module determines the starting of the engine based on the voltage outputted from the battery. The start determination module comprises an amplifier(141), a voltage divider(142), an analog to digital converter(143), and a controller(144).
