PURPOSE: A sterilizer for a water ionizer and a suitable sterilization method for the same are provided to improve the cleanness in the use of the water ionizer, and to prevent the generation of smell in the water. CONSTITUTION: A sterilizer for a water ionizer includes: a sterilization button(1) which is installed to enable a user to press the button by his/her hand when wants the sterilization; a controller(2) which exhausts the acid water to the outlet of the alkaline water by reversing the current applied to an electrolytic cell; and a circulating pump(5) which can circulate the acid water exhausted from the electrolytic cell while supplying the water to a filter section after the sterilization signal is inputted to the controller. |
