A bearing device having enhanced strain detection sensitivity for highly sensitive measurement of preload applied to a bearing. The bearing device has spacers placed between raceway rings of bearings (3, 3) arranged in the axial direction. A ring-shaped strain inducing member (7) is provided at a part in the axial direction of an outer ring spacer (5), and strain is produced in the strain inducing member (7) by an axial force applied to opposite ends of the outer ring spacer (5). Strain inducing sections (12a) are arranged at places in the circumferential direction of the strain inducing member (7). The strain inducing sections (12a) are more likely to elastically deform than other portions of the strain inducing member (7). Each strain inducing section (12a) is provided with a strain sensor (20) for detecting strain of the strain inducing section (12a). |
