PURPOSE: A safety control system and method of an electric parking brake for an electric forklift truck are provided to control an electric parking brake by detecting whether a driver has a seat and whether an accelerator operates. CONSTITUTION: A safety control system and method of an electric parking brake for an electric forklift truck comprises a driving sensor(110), a seat sensor(120), a brake(140), and a controller(150). The driving sensor senses whether a vehicle operates by sensing the rotation of a driving motor. The seat sensor receives a driving signal from the driving sensor. The seat sensor senses whether a driver has a seat. If no, the seat sensor delays for a predetermined time and then outputs the signal that the driver left his seat. The brake controls the driving motor and wheels. The controller controls the driving sensor, the seat sensor, and the brake. |
