The method involves identifying an animal in a milking unit (20) of a milking parlor (2) by reading an identifier of an identification unit e.g. radiofrequency identification tag, of the animal using a reading unit (8). A parameter related to the animal is delivered based on the identifier of the animal. Milk is drawn from the animal and is collected. The collected milk is sent to a specific circuit (30) of a delivering unit (3) for delivering the milk according to the parameter. The delivered milk is stored in a specific storage unit (4) that contains the milk corresponding to the parameter. The parameter is relative to health state of the animal, and quantity and/or quality of the milk produced by the animal. An independent claim is also included for an installation for managing animals in a livestock, comprising a memory for storing a parameter related to one of the animals.
