PURPOSE: A fluorescent lamp is provided to attach a fluorescent material on a glass layer by forming the glass layer between a quartz glass material arc tube and a fluorescent substance layer. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent lamp is comprised of an arc tube(1). A pair of band shape electrodes(2a,2b) are arranged on the circumference of the arc tube in longitudinal direction of the arc tube. A protective film(3) is covered on the electrode. An ultraviolet reflector(4) is formed on the inner wall of the arc tube. A glass layer(5) is formed on the inner wall of the arc tube and the ultraviolet radiator. The glass layer and a fluorescent material layer are formed on the whole of the inner wall of the arc tube.
