PURPOSE: A nanostructure having stabilized alpha-helix and a cyclic self-assembly compound forming the same are provided to maintain multiple alpha-helix structures without modification. CONSTITUTION: A cyclic self-assembly compound comprises an alpha-helix forming fragment and a rod forming fragment. The rod forming fragment is beta-sheet rod, alpha-helical rod, polyproline rod, p-phenylene, or p-phenylene vinylene. The compound further comprises a linker. The compound is a cyclic compound of formula 1, 2, or 3. The cyclic self-assembly compound is formed by self-assembly.
