PURPOSE: A tracking unit using radio frequency identification technology is provided to prevent a portable item from being lost and track the distance and the current position of a position tracking object. CONSTITUTION: An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tag is installed on a target, and has the distance information which is distinguished with a constant interval within a group and a distinctive ID. A moving reader measures the distance to the target based on the number of IDs received from RFID tags of the target and the distance information of the received RFID tags.
