PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical low pass filter, at a peripheral part of which a function for suppressing birth of moire does not falls and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the optical low pass filter comprises a step of arranging a photopolymerisable composition 5 containing a monomer or an oligomer of two or more functions and a photopolymerization initiator on a substrate, a step of providing a ND filter 6 in which light transmittance becomes larger toward its outer circumferential part above the photopolymerisable composition and a step of obtaining the optical low pass filter 1 having a sheet-shaped matrix 2 and a large number of columnar structures 3 which is aligned in one direction in the matrix and is two-dimensionally arranged in a surface perpendicularly crossing thickness of the matrix by irradiating the photopolymerisable composition with parallel light L to polymerize and cure the photopolymerisable composition.
