PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a member to be welded from being deformed by excessive heat, by reducing thermal influence when a general welding member including a bracket or the like is welded to the member to be welded. SOLUTION: In the arc welding apparatus 1, a bracket 2 held on a welding head 6 is welded to a pipe 3 by arc welding. The bracket 2 is provided with a hollow cylindrical body 5, which is formed into a hollow conical shape having a diameter increasing from the bracket 2 to the open end 10. The open end 10 of the cylindrical body 5 of the bracket 2 held on the welding head 6 is lifted from the state in contact with the pipe 3, and fused through arc formation between the tip end of the cylindrical body 5 and the pipe 3, and the open end 10 of the cylindrical body is pressed against the pipe 3; thus, the bracket 2 is welded to the pipe 3.
