PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for inspecting an inkjet recording head allowing a quicker inspection at low inspection cost. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording head for ejecting ink drops of colors showing each of three primary colors of density is used to eject ink of two colors out of the three primary colors into the same position of a recording medium and to record a mixed dot pattern formed of two ink drops. The recorded mixed dot pattern is irradiated with light of a color to be a complementary color to a color shown by the mixed dot. A reflected light of the irradiated light is measured, and a recording position deviation of the mixed dot is evaluated from the measured data obtained by the measurement.
