<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt capable of maintaining the normal operation of a power transmission device by improving the strength of a toothed belt. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A rubber toothed belt 3 comprising a plurality of teeth 7 longitudinally arranged along the belt at predetermined intervals, a rubber-based belt body 3 including a back section 4 in which a core wire 9 is buried, and a tooth cloth 11 which covers the surface of the plurality of teeth 7, wherein the tooth cloth 11 has a multiplex weave construction, a warp 6 is made of nylon fibers, a woof 8 located on the surface side of the tooth cloth 11, of two kinds of woofs 8, is made of fluoride fibers, low boiling point fibers softened or melted at the vulcanizing temperature of the belt body are disposed around the fluoride fibers, and the rubber constructing the teeth 7 consists of a polymer component comprised of only hydrogenated nitrile rubber containing at least unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt, the polymer component being made by mixing the hydrogenated nitrile rubber and the unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt at a mass ratio of 100:70 to 100:100.
