<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for a microscope, which displays images photographed before and after a change in observing condition, so as to enable the comparison between them, and to provide a microscope system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging section that captures, at prescribed time intervals, observation image data obtained by imaging a specimen image magnified by the microscope; a first image memory that holds the observation image data captured by the imaging section and supplies them for display processing performed by a display section; a second image memory that holds the observation image data held by the first image memory, each time fresh observation image data are held in the first image memory; a condition change detecting section that stops the rewriting of the second image memory when any change is detected in the observing condition when the observation image data held in the first and second image memories are captured; and a display control section that, when any change is detected in the observing condition, displays on the display section the observation image data before the change in the observing condition held in the second image memory and the observation image data in the first image memory updated by prescribed time so as to enable the comparison between them.
