A resin which can be suitably used in various products such as radical-curable resin compositions, color material dispersion compositions, and photosensitive resin compositions; a resin composition; and a means for producing the resin are provided.  Specifically provided is an a-allyloxymethylacrylic acid-based copolymer having a structural unit represented by formula (1) in the main chain.  In formula (1), R represents a hydrogen atom or an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms.
