The first subject of the invention is a carbon nanocomposite additive, which can be used for modification of the properties of polymers. The carbon nanocomposite additive according to the present invention comprises an inorganic carrier and a carbon nanotube system anchored on the surface thereof, which latter carbon nanotube system can be also functionalized. A further subject of the invention is the application of the carbon nanocomposite and a process for the production of the carbon nanocomposite additive.
