<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processed food having moderate sweetness even though little sugar is added to ume (plum) flesh when use of only the ume flesh makes the food difficult to eat because of its strong acidity, and thereby having low calorie and enabling an eater to enjoy mild taste, and to provide a method for producing the processed food. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing processed food includes a process for mixing ume flesh with banana, and a process for heating the ume flesh and the banana. The method also includes a process for heating the mixture of the ume flesh and the banana, a process for smashing the ume flesh, a process for smashing the banana fruit flesh, a process for straining the smashed ume flesh, and a process for straining the smashed banana.
