<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display and a driving method for the same, obtaining pixel voltage exceeding the output voltage of a driver LSI. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display includes: a display part 10; a scanning line driving circuit 20; a signal line driving circuit 22; a counter electrode driving circuit 24 for outputting a counter electrode driving signal in opposite phase to a signal line driving signal to a counter electrode; an auxiliary capacitor 16, one end of which is connected to an output end of a switching element 12; and an auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit 26 connected to the switching element 12 of each row to drive auxiliary capacitor lines of two or more rows to which the other end of the auxiliary capacitor 16 of each row is common. The auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit 26 applies a first voltage to the auxiliary capacitor line of each row during a first period of a counter electrode driving signal, applies a second voltage during p+1/2 period after the first period of the counter electrode driving signal (wherein p is 0 or natural numbers), and outputs a signal for making the open state during the holding period after the p+1/2 period according to each scanning line driving signal of each row. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
