PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and easily producing a high-quality cationized galactomannan-based polysaccharide. SOLUTION: The method for producing the cationized galactomannan-based polysaccharide comprises: a step (1) to add water and an alkali metal hydroxide to a galactomannan-based polysaccharide with average addition speed (that is, (the number of moles of the alkali metal hydroxide)/(the number of moles of hydroxy groups which the galactomannan-based polysaccharide has)/min) of 0.0001-0.1 so as to obtain a mixture including the galactomannan-based polysaccharide; and a step (2) to add a quaternary ammonium compound having a glycidyl group to the obtained mixture and subjecting the galactomannan-based polysaccharide to a cationization reaction in a condition in which the content of water in the reaction system is 4-35 pts.wt. with respect to the galactomannan-based polysaccharide of 100 pts.wt.
