PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor capable of hardly receiving the influence of thrust force saturation, having much magnetic flux gathered by teeth having a coil wound therearound and decreasing harmonic components of an induction voltage. SOLUTION: The linear motor has a configuration in which a plurality of permanent magnets 3 are arranged with an equal pitch on a field core 2 provided on a stator side so that polarity can be alternately different, an armature 4 as a mover side is oppositely arranged to a field magnetic pole via a magnetic gap, a coil is wound around teeth 51-56 of the armature core 41 configuring the armature 4 to form armature windings 61-66, teeth 71-75 having no coil are arranged between the teeth having a coil wound therearound, the teeth 51-56 and 71-75 are alternately arranged, and the relationship between the number of magnetic poles by the permanent magnets 3 and the number of teeth of the armature core 41 is set at 4n:6n-1 (n is a natural number).
