<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire which is excellent in riding comfort, productivity, and durability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Each side part includes a large number of protrusion strips 46 on its inner surface 38a. The inner surface 38a has a buttress area 40 positioned on the outside in a radial direction, and a bead area 42 positioned on the inside in the radial direction. The buttress area 40 or the bead area 42 is a high density area. The occupancy of the protrusion strips 46 in the high density area is not less than 20%. Preferably, in the high density area, the ratio of the distance between the protrusion strip 46 and another protrusion strip 46 positioned next to the protrusion strip 46 to the height of the protrusion strip 46 is 2.5 to 4.5.
