PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and an electronic apparatus, wherein the occurrence of pixel defects due to pressing of a screen is prevented to improve the reliability. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 includes a spacer 35 for holding an interval between a first glass substrate 10 and a second glass substrate 40. On the first glass substrate 10, an interlayer dielectric 23, a common electrode 25 formed on the interlayer dielectric 23 and a pixel electrode 29 formed on the common electrode 25 through a pixel insulating film 27 are formed. The lower end of the spacer 35 is abutted on the upper surface of the pixel electrode 29. The thickness of the interlayer dielectric 23 in a spacer area 22 on which the lower end of the spacer 35 is abutted is thinner than the thickness of the interlayer dielectric 23 in the other area.
