The invention relates to a rubber composition free of zinc or containing less than 0.5 pce of zinc, which can be used for manufacturing tyres, made of at least: a dienic elastomer; a sulphur-based cross-linking system; an inorganic filler as a reinforcing filler; a blocked mercaptosilane with the following general formula (I): (R3O) R2 R1-Si - Z- S -C (=O) - A, where: R1 and R2, identical or different, are a monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from among linear or branched alkyls, cycloalkyls or aryls, having 1 to 18 carbon atoms; R3 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from among linear or branched alkyls, having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; A is hydrogen or a monovalent hydrocarbon group selected from among linear or branched alkyls, cycloalkyls or aryls, having 1 to 18 carbon atoms; and Z is a divalent bonding group comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms.
