The folding installation has multiple adjoining formers, where inner, facing hopper edges of the former sliding lateral to their hopper gradient are formed in sections by a multi-body system (29). The multi-body system has multiple mutually movable base bodies (30), so that by a reduction of the lateral distance between the formers, none of the formers engages in the contour of a directly adjacent former.
