The invention relates to a bearing assembly for an axially mobile cylinder in a printing press, including: an end piece (42) to be mounted on a frame (26) of the press and defining a central axis (X-X); a means (44) for bearing a cylinder (14, 16) on the end piece, both in rotation about the central axis (X-X) and in translation along the central axis. The bearing means (44) includes: a radial roller bearing (46); and a bearing (48). The second bearing (48) is adapted to be secured relative to the cylinder (14, 16) and to be connected to the end piece via an axial spring (50) having an elasticity along the central axis, the cylinder and the bearing (48) being axially mobile relative to the end piece (42). The invention can be used in inking and wetting units in offset rotary presses.
