<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the RRI (R-R interval) by an apparatus for detecting the heartbeat of an occupant of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The heartbeat detecting apparatus detects the heartbeat of the occupant of the vehicle. The heartbeat detecting apparatus includes: a sensor for detecting the motion on the body surface of the occupant; a heartbeat peak signal calculating part for calculating heartbeat peak signals with emphasized heartbeat peak waves of heartbeat source signals, the output of the sensor part, by a band-pass filter; an R-wave calculating part for calculating peak waves as R waves from the heart beat peak signals based on amplitude information; and an RRI calculating part for calculating the time interval between two temporally adjacent R waves calculated by the R-wave calculating part as the RRI, and determining whether the RRI calculated from the comparison with the adjacent RRI is abnormal or not. If it is determined that the RRI calculated by the RRI calculating part is abnormal, the R-wave calculating part calculates appropriate R waves again based on the comparison with the adjacent RRI, and after that, the RRI calculating parts calculates the RRI again based on the R waves calculated again by the R-wave calculating part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
