PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable electrophotographic photoreceptor with high definition and excellent stability for repeated use, and an image forming apparatus including the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an electron transport layer containing an electron transport material, a charge generation layer containing a charge generation material, and a positive hole transport layer containing a positive hole transport material, which are laminated in this order on a conductive support. The photoreceptor satisfies all of the following expressions (1), (2) and (3): 0.1≤μe/μh≤2(1); 0.5≤Ce/Ch≤3 (2); and 5 [μm]≤de≤50 [μm] and 5 [μm]≤dh≤50 [μm] (3), wherein e and h represent respectively mobilities [cm<SP>2</SP>/V/s] of the electron transport layer and the positive hole transport layer, Ce and Ch represent electrostatic capacities [pF/cm<SP>2</SP>] thereof, and de and dh represent film thicknesses [μm] thereof.
