<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of sense of incongruity when a target area is viewed with both eyes, even by adjusting a pupil distance adjusting device according to the pupil distance of each user, in an optical apparatus used by viewing with both the eyes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical apparatus includes: first and second optical means horizontally disposed so that their optical axes cross each other; a first convergence angle adjusting means for changing the crossing angle of the optical axes of the first and second optical means in synchronization with pupil distance adjustment of the pupil distance adjusting devices 24 and 44; a movable means for moving an objective lens between eyepiece lenses 22 and 42 and the target parts viewed with both the eyes; a second convergence angle adjusting means for changing the directions in which the objective lenses 21 and 41 are respectively movable, according to the crossing angle of the optical axes of the first and second optical means; and an optical axis direction maintaining means for keeping the optical axes of the objective lenses 21 and 41 parallel to the optical axes of the first and second optical means.
