<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an actuator in which the contraction force of a piezoelectric film is exerted in a direction perpendicular to the direction of its expansion and contraction. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator includes: elastic bodies placed opposite to each other with a predetermined distance in-between; and a moving member provided between the elastic bodies so that the elastic bodies can be expanded and contracted. At least either of the elastic bodies is a piezoelectric film whose peripheral area is supported on a support member so that its expansion and contraction area is sandwiched or encircled. The moving member is moved in the direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of expansion and contraction by the expansion or contraction caused when the piezoelectric film is energized or de-energized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
