GEAR TYPE DIFFERENTIAL VELOCITY, DOUBLE REVERSAL TYPE LOW PRESSURE TURBINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double reversible turbine having a small outlet area.

SOLUTION: The low pressure turbine 26 of double reversal type includes an outer 68 and an inner drum rotor 78 able to make double reversals. The outer drum rotor 68 is coupled with a single shaft so as to transmit the torque and output from the turbine 26. A drum turbine blade train 70 of a low pressure outer drum extends inward in the radial direction from the outer shell 66 of the outer drum rotor 68, while a turbine blade train 80 of a low pressure inner drum extends outward in the radial direction from the inner drum rotor 78, wherein the blade train 70 of the outer drum and the inner drum one 80 are arranged in the form of intersecting fingers. The drum rotors 68 and 78 are in gear coupling with each other through a planetary gearbox 56 so that the torque and output produced by the drum rotors 68 and 78 are all transmitted to a low pressure shaft 74. It is accepted that the gearbox 56 is positioned behind the drum rotors 68 and 78.
