<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct brightness so as to prevent a region of a high-luminance chromatic color from being corrected into faded color, while suppressing a hue or saturation change in the other region. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a gamma conversion section for gamma-converting an input luminance signal Y and input color difference signals Cb, Cr while maintaining an RGB ratio of the input luminance signal Y and the input color difference signals Cb, Cr; an RGB converting section for converting a luminance signal Y_g and color difference signals Cb_g, Cr_g, obtained by gamma-converting the input luminance signal Y and the input color difference signals Cb, Cr, into RGB signals Rg, Gg, Bg; a target correction value calculating section for calculating a target correction value Yt, that is a target value in tone correction of the input luminance signal Y, on the basis of the RGB signals Rg, Gg, Bg; and a tone correcting section for tone-correcting a value of the input luminance signal Y into the target correction value Yt and for tone-correcting values of the input color difference signals Cb, Cr on the basis of the target correction value Yt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
