<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that a shift to test mode occurs during the irradiation of a radiation source for inspection and that what is called measurement missing occurs in which continuous measurements of a radiation detector are interrupted during the test mode. <P>SOLUTION: A radioactive gas monitor is provided with a detection part 1 for detecting radiation and a measuring part 2 for performing measurements on the basis of the output of the detection part 1. The detection part 1 includes a sample container 4; the radiation detector 3, a radiation source cap 5 provided for a protrusion part 4a of the sample container 4; and a radiation source 6 for diagnosis located on the lower side of the radiation source cap 5. The radiation source 6 for diagnosis irradiates radiation for diagnosis to the radiation detector 3 through an irradiation window 5a of the radiation source cap 5, and the measuring part 2 verifies the soundness of a system gain by monitoring the peak position of a wave height spectrum of the output of the detection part 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
