PERPENDICULAR RECORDING MAGNETIC HEAD, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular magnetic head capable of preventing deterioration of recording characteristics even when a main magnetic pole film is made thin as a recording track width is made smaller.

SOLUTION: A magnetic auxiliary magnetic pole 22 and a nonmagnetic layer 23 are stacked on a main magnetic pole 13, and a nonmagnetic part 24 is provided on the side face of the floating surface side of the magnetic auxiliary magnetic pole and the nonmagnetic layer. In an area excluding the vicinity of the floating surface, a gap between the main magnetic pole and a shield 16 is enlarged by the nonmagnetic part 24 and the nonmagnetic layer 23, and a magnetic field loss is prevented to improve magnetic field intensity and a magnetic field gradient.
