PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having superior low temperature fixability and excellent heat-resistant storage property, hardly causing a blocking phenomenon even when used in a high temperature environment, and having excellent stability of triboelectric charging. SOLUTION: The toner includes toner particles comprising core particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and wax, and a coating layer formed by fixing resin particles on the surfaces of the core particles, and is characterized in that: the resin fine particles comprise a resin containing a functional group capable of developing self-dispersibility in at least water; a pH(a) representing an isoelectric point obtained by the measurement of a zeta potential of the resin fine particles in water is lower than a pH(b) representing an isoelectric point obtained by the measurement of a zeta potential of the core particles in water; and the zeta potential of the resin fine particles in water at pH(b) is -5.0 mV or lower.
