PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, an imaging method and a program which can suppress occurrence of a distorted image, and obtain a high precision image even if panoramic photographing is carried out. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element 12 that images an object image through an optical system; an image signal processing part 161 having a function of combining a plurality of imaged images into a combined image piece using a given initial value, the photographed images being obtained while the imaging apparatus is moved; a position sensor 14 capable of obtaining the position information of the imaging apparatus; and a controller 162 that processes the information of the position sensor 14 to perform collaborative control based on the processing results and the processing results of the image signal processing part 161. The image signal processing part 161 obtains the relative positional relationship of the mutual images via image recognition processing; and the controller 162 obtains the positional relationship of the images via the detection information of the position sensor 14, specifies the absolute positional relationship of the respective images based on the obtained positional relationship and the relative positional relationship obtained by the image signal processing part 161, and supplies the absolute positional relationship to the image signal processing part 161 as the initial value.
