HEAD GIMBAL ASSEMBLY AND DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the adverse influence of tracing on rotation of a head slider by the elongation operation of a piezoelement in a HGA having the piezoelement fixed in a gimbal tongue. SOLUTION: An HGA 200 includes two piezoelements 205a and 205b fixed in a gimbal tongue 223. A head slider 105 is fixed on the stage 131 of the gimbal tongue. The stage is rotated by elongating the piezoelements. Lead lines 217aa to 217f for transmitting the signal of the head slider extend through connection pads 351a and 351b of the head slider side of the two piezoelements. Thus, stress caused by tracing rigidity with respect to the elongation of the piezoelements is reduced, and a stroke reduction of the piezoelements is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
