FOCUS DETECTING DEVICE, ITS CONTROL METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently correct a shading in a focus detecting device where a plurality of focus detection pixels are provided on a solid imaging element for obtaining image information. SOLUTION: The focus detecting device includes: an imaging device including a first pixel group for photoelectrically converting an object image from the first exit pupil area of a photographing lens, a second pixel group for photoelectrically converting an object image from the second exit pupil area of the photographing lens, and a third imaging pixel group for photoelectrically converting the object image from the exit pupil areas including the first exit pupil area and the second exit pupil area; a first gain information acquisition part 101 for acquiring first gain information from a first image signal (image A) of the first pixel group; a second gain information acquisition part 102 for acquiring second gain information from a second image signal (image B) of the second pixel group; a correction part for correcting the gains of the first and second image signals using the first gain information and the second gain information; and a phase difference calculation part 104 for obtaining a phase difference between the first and second image signals using the first and second corrected signals.
