<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for checking collapse of a tunnel ceiling for automating the inspection of structure of concrete of a tunnel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device comprises: an automatic ranging apparatus 17; an automated inspection vehicle 10; and a microprocessor for controlling both, measures the height of the ceiling of the tunnel with the automatic ranging device 17, and can check unreasonable variation of the height of the ceiling. This device checks the collapse of the tunnel ceiling by hammering test using an acceleration sensor disposed on an arm 61 of a hammer or robot hand mounted in the automated inspection vehicle 10.
