<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient strength at a spline part while inhibiting snaps by keeping rotary backlash quantity B4 at an outside interface within a specified value. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This power transmission 1 includes an outer rotary member 3, an inner rotary member 5, an outer clutch 7, a friction clutch 11 capable of connecting and disconnecting the rotary members 3, 5 by an inner clutch member 9, a pressure ring 13 capable of pressing the friction clutch 11, a cam mechanism applying thrust force, and a pilot clutch generating thrust force. In the power transmission 1, values of B1, B2, B3, and B4 are set so as to satisfy an inequality: B4>(B2+B3)>B1, where rotary backlash quantity between the inner rotary member 5 and the pressure ring 13 is represented by B1, rotary backlash quantity between the inner rotary member 5 and the inner clutch member 9 by B2, rotary backlash quantity between the outer rotary member 3 and the outer clutch member 7 by B3, and the total of rotary backlash quantities between a first power transmission member and a second power transmission member with the friction clutch 11 engaged is represented by B4.
