<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an engine, improving reliability by sufficiently securing a cooling water flow rate of a water-cooled exhaust manifold and suppressing high temperatures of the exhaust manifold, and sufficiently improving heating performance of a cabin heater during a cold time by feeding a required flow rate of cooling water to the cabin heater via the exhaust manifold. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A cooling water jacket of the exhaust manifold 10 is interposed on a further upstream side than the cabin heater 6 of a bypass water passage 7 for the heater for circulating cooling water to the cabin heater 6. A return water passage part 5 of a main cooling water circuit 3 is communicated between the exhaust manifold 10 of the bypass water passage 7 for the heater and the cabin heater 6 by an exhaust manifold return bypass water passage 11. A throttle part 12 is provided in the return water passage part 5 between a connection part with the bypass water passage 7 for the heater and a connection part with the exhaust manifold return bypass water passage 11.
