PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-accuracy ultrasonic search unit, as to an ultrasonic search unit comprising an ultrasonic vibrator using a phased array UT method. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic search unit includes: an ultrasonic probe; an ultrasonic vibrator using the phased array UT method and placed in the ultrasonic probe; a member provided so as to contact with the ultrasonic vibrator; and a first sound absorbing material provided on the member, placed in a position where, among ultrasonic waves emitted from the ultrasonic vibrator, at least an ultrasonic wave reflected by an inspecting body enters, and having a shape projecting in a direction vertical at least to a direction in which the ultrasonic wave is transmitted and on the ultrasonic vibrator side.
