<p>Continuous preparation of polymer particles of water-soluble polymers from monomers in a tube rector comprises: (a) producing a dispersion of a liquid dispersed phase in a liquid or gaseous continuous phase, where the dispersed phase comprises the monomers; and (b) polymerizing the monomers in the dispersed phase, using one or more radical initiators, to the water-soluble polymers during the transport of the dispersion in the tube reactor, where the tube reactor has a circular cross-section perpendicular to the flow direction and a constant inner diameter of 0.1-5 mm. Continuous preparation of polymer particles of water-soluble polymers from monomers in a tube rector comprises: (a) producing a dispersion of a liquid dispersed phase in a liquid or gaseous continuous phase, where the dispersed phase comprises the monomers; and (b) polymerizing the monomers in the dispersed phase, using one or more radical initiators, to the water-soluble polymers during the transport of the dispersion in the tube reactor, where the tube reactor has a circular cross-section perpendicular to the flow direction and a constant inner diameter of 0.1-5 mm or a semicircular cross-section perpendicular to the flow direction with constant geometry and a roundness of at most 14 with a maximum inner diameter of 0.1-5 mm and the maximum diameter of one, more or similar polymer particles prepared in the step (b) is perpendicular to the flow direction of at least 80% and less than 100% of the tube inner diameter and/or the maximum tube inner diameter. An independent claim is included for the polymer particle(s) obtained by the above method.</p> |
